DAMAM

The dam�m is one of the most famous instruments in the south of Iran particularly in Booshehr. The bowl of the dam�m has a cylindrical format covered by skin on both sides and fastened by straps and ropes on the sides. It is played by both hands while it is firmly held on the ground. It is sometimes suspended from the neck with straps during performances. Although it is particular to Iran, instances of it may be found in India and some certain Arabic and African countries.
