If you took the time to listen to the state of the union last night, Bush asked congress to pass the law to renew the right for home land security to listen to private conversations, if it gets passed by Fri (before Feb 1st), republicans remain in very good shape! On the other hand, he mentioned "several" times that any legislation against current policies of the administration will be vetoed by him!

Anyways, once the parties introduce nominees, you will be surprised by the aces republicans are going to put on the table. Democrats have played all their aces during fund raising, no wonder they always start big (clinton and obama raised well above 100million $) and end weak. Republicans often recieve fundings from powerful lobbies and wont waste their winning hands for fund raising!
