Ancelotti: Mourinho's Methods Are Questionable
Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti talked about his team's state of form and discussed the tough methods of his Inter colleague Jose Mourinho.
This afternoon Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti, whose team are experiencing a strong period of form held a long press conference ahead of Sunday's against Serie A leaders Napoli.

He discussed about Milan's recent performances, saying that his charges need to make more effort in improving their consistency.

"In this period, even though we have made improvements, we have not been consistent," he said.

"Compared to when we won the Scudetto in 2004, we can't seem to play well consistently. I think this is because of the absence of Pirlo.

"In this last period we have had to use other weapons to win, like sacrifice and team work. Let's hope we have him back in about 20 days. That said, it is also positive that our team spirit is so strong."

The coach also talked about the injured players and the Alexandre Pato's start to the season: "I think that both Nesta and Senderos could come back next week against Braga. Pato still has some limits, which he is trying to eliminate in this period. He especially needs to learn to be more ruthless and confident inside the area."

He then went on to comment on Mourinho's decision to leave out players who do not follow his precise instructions and the Scudetto race with Inter.

"I don't think Mourinho is nervous, he is just determined, but I don't see why I always have to comment on his words," Ancelotti continued. "Inter? Everyone can see it's a balanced season. We only have to think about our own season and be in first place at the end.

"Last Thursday I had 12 players come in late [because of a road accident]. If I used Mourinho's methods I would have had to use the youth team," he chuckled.

Milan leapfrogged Inter in the standings for the first time in almost three years with the midweek victory against Siena (2-1). They are now just one point below joint leaders Udinese and Napoli.
