Report: Barca To Bid €22m For Vidic

Speculation from the English tabloids suggests that Barcelona have tabled a €22m bid for defender Nemanja Vidic and are stepping up their attempts to bring the Manchester United defender to the Camp Nou.

The Daily Star have reported that Vidic’s wife is unhappy in Manchester and would be interested in a move to a warmer climate, alerting the new champions of Europe to the Serbian’s possible availability.

Sir Alex Ferguson swooped for the 27-year old in the summer of 2006, clinching his signature from Spartak Moscow for a fee of £7m, and under the Scotsman Vidic has matured into one of the most uncompromising opponents in the English Premier League.
