40 fiery days
That of last Sunday, due to the postponement of the match against Napoli, has been the last pause for the Bianconeri, before a long tour de force. Back to work the day of the friendly in Liege, in the afternoon Deschamps' team started a long period, which sees the team engaged in nine championship matches, until May 5. Nine matches in 40 days, almost one every five days. The cause is the full calendar, and the many replays due to the commitments of the national teams, and to the suspension that followed the tragical events in Catania. This in short is the programme of the next nine challenges, that will see Del Piero and his mates engaged: Pescara-Juventus, 11th day of second round, Saturday March 31, 4.00 pm Juventus-Albinoleffe, 12th day of second round, Friday April 6, time to be confirmed (4.00 or 6.00 pm) Juventus-Napoli, replay of the 10th day of the second round, Tuesday April 10, time to be confirmed Lecce-Juventus, 13th day of second round, Saturday April 14 (to be confirmed, after choosing rebound) Juventus-Rimini, replay of the 1st day of second round, Tuesday April 17, time to be confirmed Juventus-Genoa, 14th day of second round, Saturday April 21 (to be confirmed, after choosing rebound and postponement) Verona- Juventus, 15th day of second round, Saturday April 28 (to be confirmed after choosing rebound) Frosinone-Juventus, replay of the 9th day of the second round, Tuesday May 1, time to be confirmed |

FIAT Group Official Sponsor for Juventus
Juventus came to a partnership agreement as "Official Sponsor" with FIAT Group. The agreement concerns all the competions for a period of three years, from July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2010. The trademark that will appear on Juventus' shirts in the 2007-2008 season is "New Holland", leader firm in the international market of agricultural machines and ground motion. From an economic point of view, the agreement provides for a fixed compensation of a total 33 million euros, and a variable compensation (the so called "performance bonus), depending on the results. The agreement is in line with the forecast of the mid term Development Plan, and was achieved in the full respect of the announced timing. The Juventus managing director expressed his satisfaction for the agreement: "the fact that the biggest private, industrial group in Italy, essential heritage of the national economy, and that is present on the international markets, decided to invest on Juventus, is a reason to be proud, and it confirms the reliance of the firms' world on our project". "Furthermore - Blanc added - this agreement confirms the value that the market recongnizes to our brand: it's not accidental that the sponsoring strategies of the FIAT Group rewarded, in the last months, some of the international sports excellences as the All Blacks, the Yamaha Racing team, and the Italian Football National. The appreciation and the reliance of FIAT Group is an incitement to grow and to do well, on the pitch and outside". |

Pescara - Juventus 0-1
The long tour de force for the Bianconeri started well, or rather very well. If the success at Pescara's home could have been predictable, maybe less predictable the stop of almost all the other rivals for the promotion. At the Adriatico they suffered, and to have the better of the boys from Abruzzo, a feat by Birindelli at the 29th minute of the second half was needed. A goal as a timeserver attacker to unblock a complicated competition, even after a penalty kick by Del Piero stopped by Polito. Juvetus streched out again. Piacenza lost in Lecce, Napoli drew at home with Bari, as well as Bologna in Arezzo. Gasperini's Genoa went up again, and with the success in the rebound, goes alone at the second position. Very well for Rimini. Now in the place-list Juventus is +6 over Genoa and still a match, and +8 on a poker of thirds made by Piacenza, Bologna, Napoli and Rimini. |

Juve Move Tempting, Admits Frings
Werder Bremen midfielder Torsten Frings has admitted being tempted by the prospect of a move to Juventus.
Juventus have targeted him to strengthen their midfield upon their return to Serie A, though they will have to fight hard as Werder Bremen are keen to hang on to him. Of course, club's can do little today if the players make up their mind, and from that perspective, it looks like Bremen might be fighting a losing battle. "Juventus want me at all costs, they are interested in me not as any midfielder, but as the midfielder," admitted Frings. "I am seriously considering this option." Bremen had earlier ruled out a move, but withe the player making his desire public, the club's sporting director Klaus Allofs is willing to reconsider that decision, though not if they are put under pressure. "I am surprised that he is speaking so openly about this, but we will not let this put us under pressure," Allofs said. "When you sign a contract you commit to honouring it, but if Torsten does not want to stay then I will not put chains on him to drag him to training in the morning." |

Juventus - Albinoleffe 1-1
After Arezzo, Albinoleffe. That of Bergamo is the second team able to wring a point at the Olimpico, the second one after that of the first round. Useless 50 minutes of the second half, all spent assaulting, but Marchetti’s bunker did not surrender. It ended 1-1 for the goals by Ruopolo and Balzaretti. Genoa is getting closer, after winning the derby against Spezia. Piacenza lost. |

I'm Staying At Juve - Trezeguet
Juventus striker David Trezeguet made a surprising announcement that he is ready to stay with the club next season as well.
David Trezeguet has ended the uncertainty surrounding his future by declaring he wants to stay with Juventus next season as well. The striker had hinted at offers from Barcelona, Arsenal and other big European teams, claiming that after seven seasons with the Bianconeri he was ready for a new experience. However, after today's 1-1 draw with Albinoleffe, he made a surprising announcement. “I feel very close to this jersey after seven years at the club and I want to stay here,” Trezeguet told journalists. "Even if we do not reach the Champions League, that does not matter. I knew this was the situation and am ready to accept this sacrifice. In fact, if we don’t have European commitments, it will be easier for us to challenge for the Scudetto next season. The Bianconeri are not yet certain of promotion to Serie A, as after today’s draw their lead at the top of the table was cut to just four points. Talking about that game, he said: “It’s a shame we were unable to beat Albinoleffe. Unfortunately we met with a side that decided not to play, preferring instead to close down all our spaces.” |
