Madrid Offer Villa €25m Over Five Years
According to Marca, Real Madrid are prepared to offer Valencia striker David Villa €5m per season over five years if he makes the move to the Bernabéu...

A €25m pay packet over five seasons would dwarf what 'El Guaje' currently earns at the Mestalla. laeding some to believe that Madrid are now among the favourites to land the striker.

Villa, who has remarked recently that he's ready to leave Valencia, currently earns under €2m per season, excluding bonuses, and would be in line for a tripling of his salary.

At Madrid, €5m would not put him among the highest earners - Raúl and Iker Casillas are among those who earn more - but he would be on the second-highest rung of the pay ladder.

Even if these terms are acceptable, though, Madrid now need to find an agreement with Valencia. The blancos have already submitted an offer thought to be in the region of €35m for the 26-year-old, with a part-exchange deal not yet ruled out.

For the time being, Villa's agent, José Luís Tamargo, will consider these personal conditions.

Chelsea Offer Ramos Mega Deal
Sergio Ramos has been offered a mega salary to join Chelsea in the summer after his agent met with Roman Abramovich in Madrid this week and Real Madrid are open to the move.

The Blues supremo held negotiations with the defender's representative, and brother, René Ramos during the basketball Euroleague Final Four in the Spanish capital, according to El Mundo Deportivo.

An offer of €7m-per-year after tax was laid on the table which would more than double Ramos' current deal at Madrid which sees him take home around €3m-a-season.

Chelsea are also prepared to shell out a huge transfer fee to land their man, if the report is to be believed, and Ramón Calderón is said to be interested with the funds being able to be used to bolster the squad during the summer.

Abramovich is keen to revitalise the Chelsea team and that next season his team are not in the position of having to play second fiddle to Manchester United in the Premier League.

The Russian oligarch is preparing to dig into his coffers again to prise some of Europe's best players away from their current clubs and Ramos fits the bill perfectly.

Madrid have still not settled on a new contract with the former Sevilla defender and the Blues' approach will make it even hard for them to settle on a deal.

El Mundo Deportivo have chosen the day of el Clásico to report the move for Ramos, but Abramovich was in Madrid this week to see the basketball tournament.

Calderón: Sergio Ramos Is Staying
Ramón Calderón has insisted that Sergio Ramos is staying at Real Madrid and questioned why any player would want to leave the Bernabéu to go to Chelsea.

Los Merengues' president moved quickly to dismiss reports that his club could be tempted by rumours that the Blues were ready to make a mega bid for the highly-rated defender.

"There is no reason to worry. His future is with Real Madrid. Sergio Ramos is one of the pillars of our project here and he has his entire career at the club ahead of him," Caldéron told Onda Madrid radio station.

"He would only leave if he wanted to, but I have seen nothing to suggest that he does. He is very happy with us. When you are playing for Real Madrid, why would you want to go to another club?"

Looking ahead to the summer, the Madrid supremo assured that there would not be major changes and the only additions that would be made would be true professionals that would add something extra.

"This squad will not be damaged. a few drops of quality here and there need to be added, but we will not break up what we already have. We want to make the fans even more excited than they already are," he continued.

"We have obtained a strong unity and do not want to spoil that. There will be few new faces, but those that there are will be good and will be seen by everyone to be adding quality and competition.

"Their behaviour, attitude and family life are key elements. A person that is no t orderly off the pitch will not be considered."

Having clinched back-to-back league titles, Calderón has now told coach Bernd Schuster that he must reach the latter stages of the Champions League next season.

"That is the next plan and we must reach the semi finals at least," he continued, before reflecting on the German's first year in charge after replacing Fabio Capello last summer.

"There are always ups and downs, but we have won at some important grounds, like San Mamés, El Calderón, Camp Nou and Mestalla, as well as Villarreal, and that was not by luck," he stated.

"It was difficult for him because he inherited a team that had just won the league and winning it again was his obligation."
