Barça Want Robinho - Agent
Barcelona have enquired Real Madrid about a move to Camp Nou, his agent has claimed.

The Brazilian international's future has been the subject of intense speculation for several weeks now, following the alleged interest from Real Madrid in using him as bait in a part-exchange deal for Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo.

Robinho has reiterated he won't be used in any swap deal, but this situation seems to have damaged his relationship with the board, having reportedly demanded his contract to be revised to stay at Santiago Bernabéu.

Chelsea have been linked with interest in Robinho since of the appointment of Luiz Felipe Scolari, but it appears now that Barcelona have joined the hunt for the 24-year-old.

According to his representative, Wagner Ribeiro, Real Madrid have already received a formal offer from The Blues, while the Barcelona interest has only resulted in an enquiry for now.

"Robinho has an offer from Chelsea that is already on the hands of the president and Pedja Mijatovic," Ribeiro began, speaking on radio channel Onda Cero.

"The president says he won't sell Robinho not even for €150 million."

He then went on to reveal the Catalan club's interest.

"On Monday, someone from the Barça board spoke to me," he said.

"I told him he would have to speak to Ramón Calderón because I could not do anything because, if things are hard with Chelsea, imagine how they will be with Barcelona."

Ribeiro further added that, although Real Madrid have already told his client that he is on Bernd Schuster's plans for the next season, Robinho wants to decide on his future before the Olympic Games.

"Everything with Robinho has to be fast, because he is now going to the Olympic Games and wants to know his future before going to Beijing," Ribeiro concluded.

Calderón: Ronaldo? Done Deal
Real Madrid Ramón Calderón has insisted on the success of the Cristiano Ronaldo deal, going as far as to say that the Portuguese is expected at Santiago Bernabéu in two weeks' time.

The last Real Madrid board meeting before summer holidays took place yesterday afternoon at the club's stadium. Calderón's board of directors was anxiously eager to hear what the chairman had to say on the summer transfers, specially on the interest in Cristiano Ronaldo and Rafael van der Vaart.

Calderón started the meeting by saying that Real Madrid will have an impressive budget of €400 million for the next season, which was applauded by the entire boardroom.

He went on to comment on the status of Cristiano Ronaldo's transfer, ensuring that he is tranquil over the success of the deal.

"Relax, he won't say no now. We won't miss on him. You can be sure of that. In ten or fifteen days we will arrive," Calderón said.

Not even Ronaldo's ankle injury appears to have cooled Real Madrid's interest in the Portugal international, with reports suggesting the Spanish champions to be readying an offer worth €85 million.

Calderón further added that Van der Vaart is on the brink of completing a move to Real Madrid, having revealed that the Holland international will arrive for a fee in the region of €6 million.

He also informed that Julio Baptista and Roberto Soldado are on their way out of Santiago Bernabéu and that their sales will help the club finance their bid for Ronaldo.

Ronaldo Calm Over Future
Manchester United hot-shot Cristiano Ronaldo has indicated that he is calm over his future and does not know yet where he will play next season.

The Manchester United winger's future has been the subject of intense speculation for some time, with the Real Madrid chairman claiming on multiple occasions that a deal had been agreed, only for the British outfit to deny it right after.

Ronaldo has been coy when quizzed on where he wants to be since the end of Euro 2008, as he is aware Manchester United hold all the aces over his future.

He has now been extremely vague once again when questioned about his future, having gone as far as to say that he could well continue at Old Trafford.

"What I want is to be happy regardless of where I play. If I am motivated, any place is fine," Ronaldo told ESPN.

When asked about his opinion on the fact that his rumoured exit from Manchester United has been one of this summer's biggest transfer sagas, he said: "The big players are always wanted by big clubs, not only me. This is something normal. I had already been wanted in previous years."

He further added that he is not "anxious" about his future and does not know the next chapter of the Ronaldo saga: "Only God knows it."

Further injury blow to Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United and Portugal
Portuguese national team physiotherapist Antonio Gaspar has announced that Cristiano Ronaldo will not be returning to action before October.

Manchester United’s winger will be sent back to Manchester in the next three weeks to recuperate after his ankle operation.

Gaspar added that he will be under his care for the next three weeks before Manchester United’s doctors carry out further examinations. At this stage the operation appears to have been successful.

Ronaldo has been in the spotlight for the last few months over his wish to leave English champions Manchester United for Spanish champions Real Madrid.

Madrid Almost Signed Villa
Sport.es has sensationally revealed that Real Madrid and Valencia were inches away from a deal over David Villa before Euro 2008...

El Guaje is the envy of Europe after finishing as top scorer for Spain at Euro 2008, but his reputation went before him even before the continental tournament.

As a consistent performer for Valencia, in fact, he had attracted the attention of Real Madrid to such a great extent that the blancos were on the verge of signing him in April, it was revealed today.

Sport.es contends that then-vice president of Los Che, Rafael Salom, met with Real Madrid technical secretary Miguel Angel Portugal in a popular Madrid restaurant to talk transfers.

On the surface there was nothing unusual here: Salom had not made the trip specifically for this head-to-head - instead he was in town for the April 16 Copa del Rey final between Valencia and Getafe. He also had an appointment with Marcelino García Toral, then-Recreativo boss who was being groomed for the Valencia hotseat.

But, surprisingly enough, the biggest outcome of the evening was that of David Villa, with Salom proposing a sale package to Real Madrid that seemed to be a hit with the Bernabéu side. For €35m the player was theirs: alternatively they could offer €30m in addition to Esteban Granero - now of Getafe - who at the time excited Los Che greatly.

Both sides seemed to be in agreement, but Madrid decided against sealing the deal. Valencia, meanwhile, underwent massive internal turmoil, rendering their own input moot. The rest is history.

CBF Hits Out At Real Madrid
The Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) has publically criticized Real Madrid for refusing to let Robinho play the Olympic Games the same day he was supposed to meet the squad.

Robinho was due to join up with the Brazil squad this Monday as they travel to Singapore ahead of the Olympic Games.

However, Real Madrid told CBF earlier the same day they would not allow Robinho to compete as the 24-year-old has allegedly contracted an injury to his pubic bone.

The player's agent, Wágner Ribeiro, confirmed this story and added that Robinho will travel with Real Madrid to their pre-season camp in Austria, where he will complete his recovery.

The Brazil national squad's doctor, José Luis Runco, stressed that Robinho was perfectly fit for competition when he represented the olympic squad in a friendly match on the 22nd of June.

"He was fine, with no problem, If it is really an injury to his pubic bone, and depending on its gravity, he will need more than 10 days of recovery," Runco told Globoesporte.

CBF has already classified this subject as "spiteful to itself, football and the Brazilian supporters."

"CBF laments and questions the fact that the Spanish club announced they would not release the player the same day he was going to travel to Singapore and just hours before the entity was going to send the names of the players to FIFA to register them for the Olympics, considering that it was publically known Robinho had been part of the squad for the tournament since the 7th of July," a statement released by CBF reads.

The Brazilian federation also reminded that it allowed Robinho to miss the Brazil squad's preparations for Copa America 2007 so that he could play for Real Madrid against Mallorca during the last fixture of the season.

Brazil coach Dunga has now until Wednesday to find a substitute for Robinho in time to have him registered for the tournament in Beijing

Robinho Pens Five-Year Extension - Report
Spanish sports daily Marca claims that Robinho has already penned a five-year deal at Real Madrid, but that the story of his transfer saga has yet to truly come to an end...

Apparently the influential Madrid daily was informed on Monday that Robinho had put pen to paper with his current club, seeing him potentially remain at the Bernabéu until 2013.

His new deal is said to be worth €3m per season net - twice as much as he used to earn and more in line with his expectations.

Yet despite the player getting his wish, Chelsea retain an interest in the Brazilian star. What's more, Real Madrid are still tracking Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United.

Should the blancos manage to coax Ronaldo to the Spanish capital then between the Portuguese, Robinho, and Arjen Robben there are more than enough high-profile wing options available to coach Bernd Schuster, meaning that some could grow unhappy at a lack of first team action.

With this in mind the merengues could suddenly grow receptive to Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon's frequent statements of admiration for the ex-Santos man.

Robinho is currently working with the Madrid squad in Irdning, Austria, as part of the pre-season camp squad. Madrid denied him permission to go to the Beijing Olympic Games with Brazil

Real Make Van Der Vaart Bid
The transfer saga surrounding Rafael van der Vaart appears to have stepped up a notch with the revelation that Real Madrid have an official approach for the Hamburg midfielder.

According to Welt-Online the Spanish champions have lodged a bid of €6 million for the Dutch international via fax. HSV sporting director Dietmar Beiersdorfer however has dismissed the amount as “not worth discussing”.

The Real leadership however believe €6 million is realistic considering that van der Vaart will be able to leave the Bundesliga for €1.5 million next summer due to a clause in his contract.

Now that the first official move has been made by Madrid, the transfer poker surrounding van der Vaart should begin in earnest. Both Hamburg and Real are taking part in next weekend’s Emirates tournament in London and intense negotiations are expected to take place before the transfer window closes on 31 August.

Van der Vaart said recently that he would only consider leaving HSV for a “top club” following speculation that Atletico Madrid had made a bid.

“I’ve said again and again that I feel fine here in Hamburg. I love HSV and would only move to a top club. It would be great if the speculation over my future would stop. As it looks, I’ll be spending another year here.”

Or maybe not……

Van Der Vaart To Real Madrid For €13m - Report
Real Madrid are ready to pounce for Rafael Van der Vaart as Hamburg are looking to sell the player for €13m according to German paper ‘Bild’.

The playmaker was outstanding during Euro 2008 and his sublime play on the pitch has been rewarded with interest from a host of top sides including Los Merengues as well as Juventus.

Van der Vaart has never hidden the fact that he would like to play for a major club and now his ambitions have received a boost as Hamburg are ready to hold talks with the La Liga side.

Bild claims the player will move to the Spanish capital for €13m and a deal could be on the horizon. However, it seems as if the German side would like their player to remain for at least another two years as his contract expires in 2010.

“I can only say that Rafael has had the best time of his career here with us and I want him to stay for another year or so,” said Martin Rol, Hamburg’s coach.

Real are keen on a midfielder and Van der Vaart may be the cheaper and more likelier alternative than Cristiano Ronaldo or Cesc Fabregas.
