Report: Prandelli For Roma, Spalletti For Fiorentina
Press rumours in the peninsula claim that the tacticians could sensationally trade places next season. According to Il Giornale, Romaare keen to lure Cesare Prandellito the Italian capital in the summer and Luciano Spalletticould relocate to his native region to manage Fiorentina. It is reported that Roma’s off-colour campaign and their difficulties in trying to confirm their Champions League status have caused frictions in the locker room, and Spalletti has allegedly fallen out with talismanic captain Francesco Totti. Spalletti recently admitted that the club will have to evaluate the ‘Totti situation’ next summer, as the striker keeps being hindered by injury problems, and subtly complained at the lack of an out-and-out striker, since summer signings Jeremy Menez and Julio Batpista clearly do not fall into that category. Prandelli is having similar problems in Tuscany and the Gigliati fans are raising doubts about his ability to bring the team forward after failing to make the most of a lavish summer transfer campaign, as they were knocked out of the Champions League at the group stage and are striving to secure a top-four finish in Serie A. Prandelli was hired by Roma in 2004, but stepped down before the start of the season because of family problems.

Roma Keen On Genoa Midfielder Thiago Motta - Report
After adding Marco Motta to their line up in January, the Romans want Thiago Motta - no relation to the defender... Roma are making plans for this summer's transfer window, adding Genoa midfielder Thiago Motta's name to their hit-list. Il Corriere Dello Sport claims the Italo-Brazilian is top priority on the Giallorossi's agenda and a move to prise him away from the Grifoni is expected at the end of the season. Earlier reports have suggested that Roma will not play on the transfer market if they fail to qualify for the Champions League. However, voices surrounding the club seem to point towards a transfer. It is believed Daniele De Rossi has a great relationship with the Genoa man, and he could be key in helping convince Roma to move for Motta. It is believed the midfielder is earning around €1 million per season at the Marassi. Roma wouldn't have a problem in offering their target a decent wage as his salary falls within the club's budget. His price tag is another matter because Genoa want around €10m for their man. In addition, Motta has already attracted interest from the big two Milanese giants. Both Inter and Milan are rumoured to be keen on the midfielder and a three-way fight could ensue.

Totti Picks Up Another Knock In Roma Training
'Er Pupone' has had a difficult period of injuries in 2009, and unfortunately he could be set to miss again. Roma’s talismanic captain Francesco Totti has had a nightmare run with injuries that have dramatically affected his season as a result. Totti has made just 19 appearances in all competitions, and has missed out on several crunch clashes for the club, such as last weekend’s 4-1 defeat to Juventus at the Stadio Olimpico. He was in line to make a return to the first team in a week’s time, after the international break, however he picked up yet another knock in training today, and although it wasn’t serious, it couldn’t have come at a worse time for him. The medical staff confirmed that his knee was no longer “inflamed or swollen”, and that Totti was in a “good condition” prior to the commencement of the session, according to La Gazzetta dello sport. At one point in the session though, ‘Il Capitano’ was forced to withdraw himself from the action as he clutched his knee after a slight knock. The doctorsdid not seem concerned, and put it down to the fact that it was his first full session back in training. With over a week still remaining until the Giallorossi’s match against Bologna takes place, the captain has ample time in order to make a recovery, and hopefully for his sake, to play in the contest.

Report: Manchester City Consider €14m Swoop For Roma Goalkeeper Doni
The Citizens are allegedly pondering a sensational offer to sign the Giallorossi net-minder, who could make a switch to England in the summer. According to Rome-based daily Corriere dello Sport, Premier League big spenders Manchester City have sounded Roma out over the possibility of luring Brazilian goalkeeper Doni to England. The Blues are reportedly prepared to bid up to €14 million to secure his services.Doni moved to the Eternal City from Juventude in 2005 for a nominal fee and, despite a few ups and downs, he has proved to be quite reliable between the sticks during the past four years. However, the Lupi supporters accused him of being too aloof during the penalty shoot-out against Arsenal earlier this month and the 29-year-old has apparently expressed his discontent at ending up in the firing line.Should Roma fail to secure a top-four finish this term and a place in the Champions League, the club directors are expected to offload some top players to balance the books and they could certainly not afford to disregard such a mega-offer for Doni. The local media suggest that the Giallorossi could then replace the Brazilian with Cagliari custodian Federico Marchetti, who has impressed in Sardinia this season.

Inter's Cristian Chivu To Return To Roma – Report
The Romanian stopper could be heading back to his old hunting ground as an Italian media source suggests that Roma are keen to secure the 28-year-old’s signature... Inter's Cristian Chivu could be heading back to Roma just two years after joining the Milanese giants.Il Corriere Dello Sport claims the Romanian still has the Giallorossi in his heart and he could be back on the road to Rome sooner rather than later. The defender left the Eternal City in the summer of 2007 when then Inter coach Roberto Mancini paid a fee reportedly around €18million. Chivu has been a regular at the Nerazzurri, but various injuries have hampered him.His contract expires in 2012 and he is currently earning €4.5m per season. However, a return to Trigoria is possible. Reports suggest coach Luciano Spalletti would not mind having his ex-defender back in the rearguard. The coach once described the partnership between Philippe Mexes, who is still with Roma, and Chivu as “one of the strongest in Europe”.The publication seem confident that the Romanian will not turn down a move if Roma make positive moves to secure his services.

Barcelona And Inter Set For Vucinic Duel - Report
Barcelona are interested in signing Mirko Vucinic and will vie for his services with Inter if Samuel Eto'o leaves Camp Nou, Il Corriere dello Sport states. Inter Milan face competition for Barcelona in the race to prise Mirko Vucinic away from Roma this summer after the Blaugrana added their name to the list of interested parties, according to a report. The 25-year-old Montenegrin striker has yet to reach an agreement about a new deal with the Italian outfit and that has led to intense speculation that he could leave, Il Corriere dello Sport states. While interest from Inter has been known for some time, Barça have entered the frame as they appear unsure about whether or not to sell Samuel Eto'o this summer.David Villa has also been linked with a move to Camp Nou should the Cameroonian leave, but coach Pep Guardiola is said to prefer a taller player and Vucinic fits the bill. With 13 goals to his name this season, the Roma forward knows that he can afford to be patient in talks with Roma as the club are very keen to offer him a new deal.Il Corriere Dello Sport add that his agent, Alessandro Lucci, is due to meet with the Giallorossi's technical secretary, Daniel Prade, in the next few days.Whether the interest from any outside parties is being generated to influence those talks is unclear, but Barcelona now being included is set to turn Vucinic's head.
