Mourinho Called Didier Drogba And Told Him To Join Inter – Report

José Mourinho remains keen to reunite with old Chelsea colleague Didier Drogba and has allegedly been proactive in trying to attract the Ivorian forward to Inter Milan.

Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho is back in the hunt for Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, with rumours abound that they are ready to splash €20 million on the 31-year-old.

The Nerazzurri are keen on the Ivory Coast international and they are ready to begin talks in order to prise him away from the London outfit.

Sportmediaset claims Mourinho phoned Drogba over the weekend. Reports suggest both men had a long chat, in which the striker's future was the main topic of conversation.

It is believed Mourinho wants the former Marseille star to move to Inter as soon as possible, even though he will be ineligible to play in this season's Champions League.

Drogba will not come cheap; Inter will have to transfer €20m into Chelsea's bank account if they are serious about landing the big striker.

This means president Massimo Moratti will have to raise funds by selling a number of players, which could fall in line with Mourinho's plans of cutting down the size of his squad.

Luiz Felipe Scolari and the Blues have always maintained a firm stance over Drogba, insisting he is not for sale.

The 'Special One', however, has other ideas and is ready to move for him.

Official: Tottenham Sign Cudicini From Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur have signed Italian goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini from Chelsea, as confirmed by the Blues..

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has already acquired one of the Premier League's hottest properties during the winter window: Honduran international Wilson Palacios from Wigan Athletic for £12 million.

Now the former Portsmouth and West Ham United boss has added Italian glovesman Carlo Cudicini to his ranks at White Hart Lane on a free transfer.

A statement on Chelsea's official website read: "Chelsea can confirm that Carlo Cudicini has today signed for Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer."

Cudicini enjoyed a fine career at the Blues having picked up two Premier League winners' medals, and two FA Cup winners' medals. He was also named the club's player of the year in 2002.

However, the Milan-born 35-year old fell down the Stamford Bridge pecking order when Czech international Petr Cech arrived in 2004.

Cudicini, in total, made 209 first team starts for Chelsea, together with six substitute appearances.

Chelsea were grateful for the service Cudicini provided: "The club would like to take this opportunity to thank Carlo for his years of service and wish him well."

It is expected that Cudicini, who has signed an 18 month contract, will rival Brazilian goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes for the number one spot.

Tottenham are yet to release an official comment.
