1. Draw the structural diagrams and write the IUPAC names for the following Carboxylic Acids and Amines which may be used to produce the following compound:

a)
CH3-C=O-N(CH3)2

2. Write the complete structural diagram equations for the following Esters:

a) ethylmetanoate
b) ethylbezoate
c) methylbutanoate
d) methylethanoate

3. Name the following Esters and the Acids and Alcohols from which they could be prepared:

a) CH3CH2COOCH2CH3

b) CH3CH2CH2COOCH3

c) HCOO(CH2)3CH3

d) CH3COOCH2CH2CH3

4. Predict the relative solubility of the following compounds in water, listing the compounds increasing order of solubility, Give reasons for your answers:

a) CH3-C=O-CH2-CH3

b) CH3CH2CH2CH2OH

c) CH3CH2CH2CH3

5. Write a series of equations to represent the formation of N-methylethanamide from methane, ethanol, and an inorganic compound of your choice.

6. Write equations to show the synthesis pathway for ethylbutanoate. An alkene and an alcohol of your choice are starting materials.

IUPAC rules for naming organic compunds are long and detailed yet simple to follow, I suggest you go over few chapters of your book and then start working on your HW. It seems you have no clue of what is going on. I can definately help you with more specific questions.

I can assure you that yes, I am indeed clueless at the moment...so there's no real need to critisize on something that is already apparent and on something that I have already mentioned above..yes we all know I am clueless with regards to this topic... . The problem: WE HAVE NO TEXTBOOK!!!!! and my notes don't help! can you help out with the other questions besides the IUPAC naming?

areh, motasefaneh manam grd 12 hastam va montazereh University of Toronto hastam...

man monday emtehan daram, mikhastam az sunday sobh bishinam az avaleh ketab ta akhareh 2 chapters bekhoonam,,, badesh didam ke tanha nistam va toham dahanet dareh servis misheh
