1. Click on format which is on the tool bar menu
2. select Paragraph from the drop down menu



The paragraph window will popup

3. Set before and after spaces on the spacing section to zero, as shown on the picture below.
4. set Line spacing to single line.



basically in this section you can tell Microsoft Word how much space you want Before and After each paragraph. from your post i assumed you want no space at all.
