FireFox Tips (Speed Up)
How to speed up Firefox I have heard some people nag about how slow FireFox is and how it takes time for it to Load pages Anyways just to say that there are ways to make FireFox render pages faster and quicker with just a few easy "tweaks." so here is a nifty trick to speed up the browser. The following are simply some basic guidelines for increasing FireFox performance To get started, type "about:config" in your FireFox address bar. (Note: There is no space between the "about:config" command) The settings you're looking for are: Code:
network.http.pipelining network.http.pipelining.firstrequest network.http.pipelining.maxrequests network.http.proxy.pipelining nglayout.ititialpaint.delay Set #3 to a high number, like 32. Set #5 to 0. Enabling the pipelining features allows the browser to make multiple requests to the server at the same time. The "maxrequests" is the maximum number of requests it will send at once. I've heard that 8 is the most it will send at once, but setting it higher won't hurt, just in case. The initialpaint.delay is the length of time (in milliseconds) after the server response before the browser begins to paint the page. Adjusting those settings will help pages render much faster in FireFox. The FireFox Tuning thread over at Mozillazine has more information for different connection speeds, etc. Editors Note: As if the FireFox browser is not fast enough I have been using FireFox for a long time now and in my opinion it is way much better that IE in both performance and flexibility wise so I really don't get why some people are always trying to say that FireFox is just not good enough, I don’t mean to offend any body but IE (Internet Explorer) days are ove, I'm not implying that FireFox is the ultimate flawless browser in the World it has its own bugs and errors (which browser or program for that matter doesn’t) but the good thing about it is that almost every major bug that is found a patch is provided for the browser immediately, plus not to mention the high browser security it provides. But, then again it all comes down to the user it doesn’t matter what kind of browser you use as long as you know where to go what to click on and what to install or download from the Internet then your just gona be fine but for those who don’t know or just don’t want to be bothered with all that stuff IE is not the browser for you with all of its security flaws and breaches and plus IE is the number one logical target for Addware and Spyware. (Yes you can blame it on the popularity or the percentage of the masses using it but that still doesn’t change a thing).
