Most of the time you follow the religion of your parent. But in adulthood you become more familiar with other religions yet you chose to stay or change religion.

The majority of Iranians are Muslim so I will discuss Islam and not Christianity, Judaism, Hendos, Seiks, Buddhism.

I want to know what it mean for you to be Muslim?

For me being an Atheist means that I do not believe in any God. I do not believe in any prophet and I do not believe the Historical Jesus existed. I believe Muhammad was a man yet he was not holy. I believe religion is man made. I do not need to thank an invisible being for what I have. For me there are no sins but there are laws of the land and social laws. I do not kill, steal, cheat, ...etc not because I am afraid of Hell but because there are wrong. I get my morals from my reason, logic. I believe in evolution of natural selection I do not have all the answers but this doesn't mean I feel the void with GOD. I believe in science, mathematics and do not have all the answer and knowledge yet I believe with time we will answer many question. I do not believe I have to respect everyone but to tolerate. (Live and let Live.) I believe religion is form of mind control and can be a danger to societies. And I am a Atheist not because of my parent but because of my own REASONING.

Now what do you beleive?

I have chosen to believe in Islam through Logic and reasoning...

I believe that every 'created' has a creator. And just as we can know how good a writer is from his/her writing, through the created we can understand the attributes of the creator.

I believe that this world with all its specifications and beauty could not have come about by chance. That a being/power must have created it with purpose. This being is one/mono and all have come about from 'him'.
I believe, the world in itself is interconnected and is created such that no creature is left unrewarded or 'oppressed'. Therefore this creator is Just -meaning he would never deprive a creation from its right- and that he is all-powerful and at the same time all knowing So he would never do anything against wisdom. I believe that the Pure Logic that a human possesses is in line with that of the creator, because HE wanted it to be so.

Through these and his Justice I believe in the afterlife and that -as a human being- with the power of Logic and the power to choose, understand, reason and think, I do not have the same destiny as a stone or animal (I am capable of having a worst or better destiny). I believe my destiny is in my own hands and that I have the freedom of choice to act. From this I believe that every action has a consequence (good/bad), not necessarily completely in this life but also not exempt from it.

I believe that God has created me and has not left me be, on my own. I believe he has given me something as a Guide/Path/Reminder. Not to tell me what to do so that I close me eyes. But, to assist my Logic, Wisdom, Decisions and actions for a much greater purpose. That is why it always tells me to THINK, THINK, THINK, and THINK even more. That is why in my belief THINKING is recommended and praised more than Praying, because IT is regarded a form of worship, because IT perfects worship. Ofcourse all the THINKING must have a basis and grounds to think upon, that which, is KNOWLEDGE.


My aim isnt to preach to anyone like some might think, to be honest I didnt even want to post here. I thought, this is something personal, WHY do YOU want to know? WHY should anyone know? I dont have to "TELL" you anything! Who are you to tell me what to do ?? (okay, not that much )

But Im after a goal, like they say; im 'lookin out for ma self' and like everyone else I want whats best for me, I want the TRUTH.

So I not only allow other people to question my belief, I welcome and invite them to do so ...
Im constantly looking for the truth, If there is one I would want to know! And the sooner the better! I dont want to miss out on all the "fun" ... But right now, where i am, its as close to the truth as it can get! (ofcourse, thats what I believe)

Me personally? Nothing! I don’t believe in any religions.
I am ham aghideh with you on all of the above, except that I am not atheist. I do believe there is a power, a force, a super energy… higher than us humans. I don’t believe in God the way it’s been presented to us, but I do believe there is an absolute energy that turns the world around, and not just our world,,,,but the whole galaxy.

P.S., I know what you meant by your question in your thread, I was just being a little sarcastic.
