شكست خانگي صبا برابر پاختاكور

خبرگزاري فارس: تيم فوتبال صباي قم با نتيجه 2 بر صفر برابر پاختاكور ازبكستان شكست خورد.

به گزارش خبرگزاري فارس، اين مسابقه در ورزشگاه يادگار امام قم و در حضور حدود 3 هزار تماشاگر برگزار شد.
زين الدين تاجي اف در دقيقه 58 و برادر وي فرهاد تاجي اف در دقيقه 65 گل هاي پاختاكور را به ثمر رساندند.
عبدالرحمان عبده داور قطري مسابقه در دقيقه 28 محسن يوسفي از صبا را به دليل تكل خشن روي پاي بازيكن حريف از ميدان اخراج كرد و به مرتضي اسدي از صبا و احمدوف از پاختاكور كارت زرد نشان داد.
اين نخستين شكست صبا در ليگ قهرمانان آسيا بود.
اين تيم در دو ديدار گذشته به دو تساوي و دو امتياز رسيد.
الهلال عربستان و الاهلي امارات ديدار ديگر اين گروه را از ساعاتي ديگر برگزار مي كنند.
پاختاكور با اين پيروزي 7 امتيازي شد و همچنان در صدر جدول باقي ماند.

Saba Battery 0-2 Pakhtakor: Uzbeks the better side

QOM: Two second-half goals were enough for Pakhtakor to secure a 2-0 win at 10-man Saba Battery in their third Group A match of the AFC Champions League at Yadegar-e-Emam Stadium on Tuesday.

After a scoreless first half, Zaynitdin Tadjiyev opened the scoring for Pakhtakor after 56 minutes before Farhod Tadjiev sealed the win by scoring the second goal seven minutes later.

Pakhatkor were clearly the better side in the game and had the first chance of the night after only six minutes when Odil Ahmedov fired a long-range shot that was deflected to a corner.

The home side went close three minutes later when Mohammad Hamrang tried his luck with a powerful shot but the ball was tipped over for a corner by Pakhtakor goalkeeper Ignatiy Nesterov.

Saba Battery thought that they had taken the lead after 19 minutes when Fereidoun Fazli broke down the right flank and sent a cross to Mahdi Kheiri, who put the ball in the back of the net but the goal was disallowed for offside.

The Iranians suffered a big blow after 27 minutes when Mohsen Yousefi was shown a red card after a harsh foul on Pakhtakor midfielder Darko Markovic.

Pakhtakor nearly took the lead after 36 minutes when Tadjiyev’s shot from inside the area beat Saba Battery goalkeeper Almir Tolja but the goal was ruled out for an offside.

Pakhtakor made a good start in the second half and they took the lead after 56 minutes when Alexander Geynrikh went into the right flank and sent a cross that was turned home by substitute striker Tadjiyev.

The Uzbeks continued to press and they added another goal three minutes after the hour mark when Tadjiev made his way into the area and fired a low shot into the net, despite the helpless efforts of Shic Rezaei to stop the Uzbek striker.

The two-goal cushion helped Pakhtakor to slow the tempo of the game but they should have added a third goal after 73 minutes but Alexander Geynrikh’s free kick went over the crossbar.

Saba Battery failed to get back into the game in the last remaining minutes and it was Pakhtakor who had the best chance with 12 minutes remaining but Ilhomjon Suyunov’s shot was saved by Saba Battery’s Bosnian goalkeeper Tolja.

استقلال با باخت مقابل ام‌صلال قعرنشين شد

به گزارش خبرگزاري فارس، ديدار تيم‌هاي ام‌صلال قطر و استقلال تهران از ساعت 20:30 در ورزشگاه رحيم بن فهد آغاز شد.
استقلال در نيمه اول قابل انتظار ظاهر نشد و تيم قطري نيز فرصت‌هاي اندك خود را از دست داد، تا نيمه اول با تساوي بدون گل پايان يابد.
در نيمه دوم درحالي كه امير قلعه‌نويي با بيرون كشيدن اميدرضا روانخواه و استفاده از فرهاد مجيدي قصد تغيير در جريان بازي استقلال را داشت اين تيم قطري بود كه موفق شد در دقيقه 67 توسط فيابيو سزار به گل برسد.
تلاش‌ هاي استقلال براي رسيدن به گل تساوي و كسب امتياز از اين بازي بي‌نتيجه ماند تا نماينده ايران در اين مسابقه بازنده شود.
با توجه به تساوي امروز تيم‌هاي الجزيره و الاتحاد و باخت آبي‌پوشان تهراني مقابل ام صلال اين تيم با يك امتياز در قعر جدول گروه خود قرار گرفت.
در حال حاضر در اين گروه تيم الاتحاد عربستان با 7 امتياز صدرنشين است و تيم ام صلال با 6 امتياز در جايگاه دوم قرار دارد.
تيم الجزيره امارات نيز با 2 امتياز رتبه سوم را به دست آورده است.
داور اين ديدار مالك عبدالبشير سنگاپوري بود. وي به علاهبيل، ابراهيم ناديا و آلوز از ام‌صلال و فرهاد مجيدي از استقلال تهران كارت زرد داد.

Umm Salal 1-0 Esteghlal: Cesar conquers for Qataris

DOHA – Fabio Cesar fired home the only goal midway through the second half as Umm Salal boosted their hopes of qualifying for the last 16 with a narrow win over Iranian side Esteghlal on Tuesday.

The hosts dominated and got their reward in the 67th minute when Cesar lashed home the winner past Vahid Talebloo after a neat lay-off from Brazilian compatriot Magno Alves.

The win sent Umm Salal up to second place in Group C with six points, one behind leaders Al Ittihad of Saudi Arabia and four ahead of third-placed Al Jazira of the United Arab Emirates.

The home side had the better of the opening half as the pace of strikers Alves and Alaa Hubail caused a number of problems for the Esteghlal defensive line.

Umm Salal had a sight on goal as early as the second minute when Abdulrahman Mahmoud’s cross from the right caused panic in the Esteghlal box with goalkeeper Talebloo forced to tip over a shot by Alves although the referee had already blown for a handball by Hubail.

In the eighth minute, Hubail was sent sprawling on the right edge of the box by Hadi Shakouri. Fabio Cesar’s low free-kick picked out the Bahraini striker, who swivelled and shot from just outside the six yard-box against Hossein Kazemi with the ball deflecting into Talebloo’s grateful arms.

Ten minutes later, Cesar swung into an inviting cross for Ibrahima Nadiya, who shot wildly over from 10 yards out.

Hubail then set up Alves, who brought the ball down in the box but saw his effort deflected wide by Shakouri.

As half-time approached, the home side stepped up the pressure and Mohamed Husain headed wide before Nadiya sent a rasping drive just over the crossbar.

The second half started in a similar vein with the Qatari side creating the better chances and Talebloo was called into action twice, making diving saves to keep out efforts by Hubail and Alves.

But the Esteghlal custodian’s luck finally ran out in the 67th minute when Alves received the ball on the edge of the box and flicked it through the legs of Khosro Heydari to Cesar who gave Talebloo no chance with a rasping drive from 10 metres away.

Esteghlal offered more of a threat in the closing minutes and Shakouri twice went close, heading just wide in the 80th minute and putting another effort over the crossbar three minutes later.

Alves should have salted the game away for the Qatari side with six minutes remaining when he received a neat through ball by Hubail on the counter-attack but dragged his effort across goal.

به گزارش خبرگزاري فارس، اين ديدار از ساعت 16 در ورزشگاه آزادي آغاز شد.
بارش شديد باران باعث شد دو تيم نتوانند در دقايق ابتدايي كاري از پيش ببرند؛ اما در ادامه مسابقه و بعد از هدر رفتن چند فرصت تيم پرسپوليس در دقيقه 35 با خطا روي ابراهيم توره صاحب ضربه پنالتي شد كه اين پنالتي را مازيار زارع در دقيقه 36 به گل تبديل كرد.
درحالي كه بازي رو به پايان بود ابراهيم توره در دقيقه 45+1 گل دوم پرسپوليس را روي پاس عليرضا محمد به ثمر رساند.
با آغاز شروع نيمه دوم پرسپوليس در اولين حمله جدي خود در دقيقه 47 توسط عليرضا نيكبخت واحدي به گل سوم رسيد.
در دقيقه 69 در پي يك ضربه ايستگاهي و روي اشتباه عليرضا حقيقي در جايگيري، تيم الغرافه توسط فرناندو به گل رسيد.
پرسپوليس با اين پيروزي 7 امتيازي شد و صدرنشين اين گروه باقي ماند.

Piroozi 3-1 Al Gharafa: Piroozi powers past Qataris

TEHRAN - Iranian League champions Piroozi took a huge step towards the knockout stage with an emphatic 3-1 win over Al Gharafa of Qatar in a Group B encounter at the Azadi Stadium on Wednesday.

Mezyar Zare fired Piroozi ahead from the penalty spot after 36 minutes and Ibrahim Toure extended the Iranian side’s lead with a cool finish in stoppage time at the end of the first half.

Alireza Vahedi Nikbakht added a third early in the second-half before Fernandao fired home a consolation for the visitors from a 69th minute free-kick.

Both sides took their time to settle into the match played in pouring rain, and it was the home side that offered the first real threat after 13 minutes as Ali Karimi swung in a free-kick from left that Rahman Rezaei was unable to direct on target with a header.

Piroozi dominated possession in the opening half hour but very nearly fell behind after 32 minutes when Araujo was released by Nashat Akram’s neat through ball but slid his shot wide in a one-on-one confrontation with goalkeeper Alireza Haghighi.

Al Gharafa would rue that miss as the hosts went ahead through a penalty four minutes later, awarded for Mohamad Al Haj’s sliding challenge on Toure.

Qasem Burhan advanced well off his goal line but Zare coolly slid the ball past the Al Gharafa goalkeeper.

With half-time looming, Piroozi extended their advantage as Alireza Mohammad made a surging run towards the Al Gharafa box drawing defenders towards himself before slipping a pass through to Toure, who coolly flicked the ball past Burhan.

The home side took complete control with a third two minutes into the second half as Karimi’s cross from the left was brought down on the edge of the box by Toure for Nikhbakht, who fired home.

Toure could have netted his second of the night just after the hour mark when he was found unmarked at the far post by Nikhbakht’s cross, but the Senegalese striker fired wastefully over.

Al Gharafa attempted to rescue some pride as Lawrence Quaye’s shot from 20 yards out was well saved by Haghighi.

But Brazilian striker Fernandao did manage a consolation for the visitors, firing a free-kick past a static Haghighi into the top right corner with 21 minutes remaining.

هادي عقيلي در دقيقه 2+45 و عماد رضا در دقيقه 62 براي سپاهان گلزني كردند و سالاموف در دقيقه 27 و آرشماتوف در دقيقه 75گل هاي بنياد كار را به ثمر رساندند.
ريوالدو بازيكن سرشناس بنيادكار با شماره 10 و بازوبند كاپيتاني مقابل نماينده ايران بازي كرد.
توجونگ مي‌نورو داور ژاپني به ادينسون و مرزدينف از بنياد كار و الونگ و مهدي جعفر پور از سپاهان كارت زرد نشان داد.
سپاهان با اين تساوي 4 امتيازي شد و همچنان در صدر جدول باقي ماند.
ديدار ديگر اين گروه از ساعتي ديگر بين الاتفاق عربستان و الشباب امارات برگزار خواهد شد.

Bunyodkor 2-2 Sepahan: Ashurmatov saves Uzbeks

TASHKENT: Bakhitiyor Ashurmatov salvaged a point for Bunyodkor as the Uzbekistan League champions drew 2-2 with Iran’s Sepahan in an entertaining Group D encounter of the AFC Champions League at Jar Stadium on Wednesday.

Bunyodkor took the lead after 27 minutes through Shavkat Salomov before Seyed Hadi Aghily levelled the scores in the third minute of first-half stoppage time.

The Iranians then took the lead after 61 minutes through Iraqi striker Emad Mohammed but Bunyodkor secured a share of the spoils thanks to a 75th minute strike from Ashurmatov.

The hosts controlled the game from the start and had their first chance after only six minutes when AFC Player of the Year Server Djeparov fired an effort from the edge of the area Sepahan goalkeeper Rahman Ahmadi had covered.

Sepahan produced their best chance in the early stages when Seyed Hadi Aghily headed a corner into the path of Hamid Azizzadeh, who struck a powerful volley from inside the area that was saved off the goal line by Shavkat Salomov.

But it was the home side who opened the scoring through Salomov just before the half hour mark after Djeparov chipped a pass over to Salomov and the striker hit a powerful volley from inside the area.

Bunyodkor looked to set to finish the half in the lead but they conceded a late equaliser in the third minute of stoppage time when Aghily levelled the score.

Moharam Navidkia hit a free kick that goalkeeper Murotjon Zukhurov could only push into the path of Aghily, who reacted to quickly to score from close range.

Sepahan should have taken the lead two minutes into the second half when Emad had time to place his shot but smashed it against the crossbar.

However, the Iraqi striker was not to be denied just after the hour mark when Ehsan Haji Safi played a throw in from the right that was cleared by Bunyodkor defenders but only as far as Emad and though his initial header was punched back into the danger zone by Murotjon Zukhurov, the forward picked up the loose ball before firing home.

The hosts went on the attack in an effort to snatch a late equaliser and that duly arrived with 15 minutes remaining when a well-worked free-kick from Rivaldo eventually fell for Server Djeparov, whose shot was saved by Rahman Ahmadi but Ashurmatov was in the right place to fire home.

Pakhtakor 2-1 Saba Battery: Pakhtakor close in on last 16

TASHKENT – Pakhtakor virtually assured themselves of a spot in the last 16 of the AFC Champions League after recovering from an early deficit to beat Iran’s Saba Battery 2-1 on Wednesday.

Mohammad Nori put the visitors ahead after five minutes but the Uzbek side got back on level terms before half-time when skipper Odil Ahmedov converted a controversial penalty.

Stanislav Andreev then took advantage of poor defending to net the winner just after the interval to maintain Pakhtakor’s unbeaten record and keep them at the top of Group A with 10 points from four games.

The two-time semi-finalists will advance to the knockout stage for the first time since 2004 if Al Ahli of the United Arab Emirates fail to beat Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia later on Wednesday.

Saba needed a win to reignite their campaign after managing only two points from their first three games and made the perfect start at Pakhtakor Stadium.

Adel Kolahkaj swung in a dangerous free-kick from the left that goalkeeper Ignatiy Nesterov attempted to claw away from danger as it dipped beneath his crossbar.

However, he failed to get enough distance on his clearance and the ball was sent back into the middle where Nori was on hand to hook a shot in past a crowd of players.

After that early setback, Pakhtakor bossed possession and should have drawn level in the 25th minute when Alexander Geynrikh eluded the challenge of two defenders and put a dangerous ball into the box that was just out of the reach of a charging Farhod Tadjiyev.

Pakhtakor did not appear likely to get an equaliser at that stage but did so in the 35th minute after being awarded a fortuitous penalty when Tadjiyev went down under minimal contact from Morteza Kashi.

Goalkeeper Almir Tolja guessed right on the spot kick but could do little to keep out Ahmedov’s effort, which flew unerringly into the left corner.

The home side should have gone ahead in the 40th minute when Dilshod Sharofetdinov knocked down a cross for Geynrikh, who headed wide from inside the six-yard box.

The score remained tied at half-time but Pakhtakor took the lead just three minutes into the second half when Andreev capitalised on slack defending by the visitors.

Kashi should have cut off Geynrikh’s cross from the right but allowed the ball to bounce past him to an unmarked Andreev, whose volley bounced past reserve keeper Ershad Yousefi, on as a half-time substitute for Tolja, and just snuck in at the far post.

Saba’s best effort of an equaliser fell to Nori, whose dipping effort in the closing minutes was punched clear by Nesterov.

But Sadriddin Abdullaev should have put the game out of reach when his effort was cleared off the line by Morteza Asadi.

به گزارش خبرگزاري فارس، تيم هاي فوتبال پرسپوليس و الغرافه قطر ساعت 20 امشب به وقت تهران در چارچوب ليگ قهرمانان آسيا و در ورزشگاه شهر دوحه به مصاف يكديگر رفتند و در پايان پرسپوليس با نتيجه 5 بر يك مغلوب ميزبان خود شد.
لوسيو (7)، كله مرسون(42، 45، 81)، نشاط اكرم(70) براي الغرافه گل زدند و علي كريمي در دقيقه 76 تك گل پرسپوليس را به ثمر رساند.
پرسپوليس در اين مسابقه چهره ضعيفي از خود به نمايش گذاشت و يكي از سنگين‌ترين شكست‌هايش را تجربه كرد.
پرسپوليس با اين شكست 7 امتيازي ماند و به دليل تفاضل گل كمتر نسبت به الشباب عربستان به رده دوم سقوط كرد. الغرافه نيز 6 امتيازي شد.

Al Gharafa 5-1 Piroozi: Boys from Brazil pummel Piroozi

DOHA – Araujo bagged a hat-trick as Al Gharafa celebrated clinching the Qatar League title with a 5-1 hammering of Piroozi and breathe new life into their bid to reach the last 16.

Araujo’s fellow Brazilian Fernandão and Iraq star Nashat Akram also got on the score sheet while Ali Karimi netted a consolation for the Iranians in the Group B clash at Al Gharafa Stadium.

Only a win would keep Al Gharafa's hopes of reaching the knockout stages alive and they fired an early warning of their attacking intentions after four minutes when Piroozi keeper Ali Reza Haghighi parried Shami Zaher's looping shot.

Three minutes later, striker Fernandão produced a sharp header from close range but Haghighi was again equal to the task.

However, Al Gharafa took the lead in the eighth minute when skipper Saad Al Shammari chipped a cross towards Fernandão inside the box and the Brazilian produced a spectacular overhead kick to find the back of the net.

Karimi tried to imitate Fernandão five minutes later but the Iranian international's weak effort dribbled past the post.

Al Gharafa nearly doubled their lead in the 28th minute as midfielder Akram met Ahmed Fares ' cross but his close-range effort was well saved by Haghighi.

Piroozi nearly scored a spectacular equaliser when Mazyar Zare unleashed a thunderbolt from 35 yards which hit the post, much to the dismay of a large Iranian contingent inside Al Gharafa Stadium.

Al Gharafa then took the game away from the visitors as half-time approached.

Araujo's deft touch from close range following Al Shammari's pass one minute before the break gave the home side a two-goal lead and shortly after, he headed home following a mistake from the Piroozi keeper.

Haghighi's fumbled Akram's shot from the edge of the box and Araujo expertly nodded in from close range two minutes into stoppage time.

Al Gharafa scored their fourth in the 69th minute, Akram finishing clinically from close in before Karimi's header at last gave Piroozi's fans something to cheer about seven minutes later.

But Araujo completed his treble with 10 minutes remaining, the striker baring down on goal before calmly slotting past the onrushing Haghighi to complete the rout.

توقف استقلال مقابل ام‌صلال و كاهش شانس صعود

به گزارش خبرگزاري فارس، ديدار تيم هاي استقلال و ام صلال از ساعت 16 در ورزشگاه آزادي آغاز شد.
بازيكنان استقلال كه براي اميدوار شدن به صعود از اين گروه به پيروزي نياز داشتند از ابتداي اين مسابقه بازي را هجومي آغاز كردند.
با اين وجود آبي پوشان تا دقيقه 44 نتوانستند دروازه تيم قطري را باز كنند تا اينكه آرش برهاني در اين لحظه با ضربه سر براي استقلال گلزني كرد تا اين تيم نيمه اول را با پيروزي پشت سر بگذارد.
در نيمه دوم تيم قطري بازي متفاوت تري را به نمايش گذاشت و توانست در دقيقه 70 توسط سعود قانم بازيكن تعويضي به گل تساوي برسد تا سكوت، سكوهاي ورزشگاه آزادي را فرا گيرد.
استقلال بعد از گل تساوي تلاش كرد نتيجه بازي را به نفع خود تغيير دهد اما آنها فرصت هاي بسيار خوبي را از دست دادند.
قضاوت اين مسابقه بر عهده علي هلال عبدا... محمود از عمان بود. وي به بيژن كوشكي، تقي پور و اكبرپور از استقلال و محمد موسي و ابراهيم نادي از ام صلال كارت زرد نشان داد.

Esteghlal 1-1 Umm Salal: Honours even in Tehran

TEHRAN – Iranians Esteghlal shared a 1-1 draw with Qatar’s Umm Salal in their fourth game in Group C of the AFC Champions League at Azadi Stadium on Wednesday.

Arash Borhani put Esteghlal ahead a minute before the break but Saud Ghanem equalised for Umm Salal with 20 minutes remaining to ensure both sides took away a point.

Umm Salal made a good start to the game and fashioned the first chance after only 11 minutes when Brazilian striker Magno Alves played a neat pass to Ala’a Hubail but his shot went wide.

Esteghlal began getting into the game more and should have scored one minute later when Meysam Maniei crossed into the danger zone from the left but Hadi Shakouri headed over the crossbar.

The home fans were up on their feet after 25 minutes when Umm Salal defender Aziz Ben Askar fouled Esteghlal striker Siavash Akbarpour inside the area but Omani referee Abdullah Al Hilali waved away the calls for a penalty.

Umm Salal should have taken the lead after 32 minutes when Magno Alves’ sizzling shot that was saved by Esteghlal goalkeeper Vahid Talebloo.

Esteghlal went on the offensive and came close after 42 minutes when Hossein Kazemi received a pass from Omid Ravankhah but his close-range shot was saved by Umm Salal goalkeeper Baba Malick.

But the hosts made the breakthrough a minute before the break when Maniei’s free-kick was headed by Siavash Akbarpour to Borhani, who headed home from close range.

The second half started slowly as fans at Azadi stadium were made to wait until the 67th minute to see another chance on goal when Omid Ravankhah’s shot was saved by Baba Malick.

But Umm Salal shocked the hosts in the 70th minute when Ala’a Hubail played a pass for substitute Saud Ghanem and the midfielder lobbed the ball over the advancing Talebloo.

Esteghlal thought that they have regained the lead six minutes later when Akbarpour picked up a pass before advancing into the area and sending the ball into the back of the net but his effort was flagged offside.
The final stages of the game saw chances for both sides as Magno Alves fired over the bar for Umm Salal before Hossein Kazemi’s effort was saved by Malick at the other end.

كاپاتزه در دقيقه 19 براي بنياد كار گلزني كرد.
سون باجوئه از چين قضاوت مسابقه را برعهده داشت و به آرماندو، احمد جمشيديان و هادي عقيلي از سپاهان و پاول گوگالو و جسور حسنوف از بنياد كار كارت زرد نشان داد.
با اين شكست سپاهان 4 امتيازي باقي ماند و اميدهايش براي صعود كمرنگ شد و بنياد كار 7 امتيازي شد و موقتا در صدر جدول قرار گرفت.

Sepahan 0-1 Bunyodkor: Farhad fury as Sepahan slip at home

ESFAHAN - Sepahan coach Farhad Kazemi was furious with his charges after their 1-0 defeat at home to Uzbekistan's Bunyodkor which leaves the Iranians in real danger of not making the knock-out stages.

Timur Kapadze scored the only goal of the game in the first half, but according to Kazemi, Sepahan were fortunate to concede just the one goal.

"We made tactical errors and we were lucky not to concede four goals," he said.

"We were terrible today. We couldn't even hold on to the ball for five minutes.”

Kazemi was shocked by his team’s the performance given Sepahan were within 15 minutes of beating Bunyodkor in Tashkent two weeks ago.

"A team can't just do a 180-degree turn and play so badly after its last performance but this was us,” he said.

"We didn't even have a proper chance in the whole game…just a possible penalty shout which the referee turned down anyway.

"The players couldn't carry out our instructions, although the tactics we'd chosen didn't suit the players. I was second best tactically.”

But not all of Kazemi's wrath was directed at himself and his players, with the coach expressing his disappointment at the home fans for calling for his head during the match.

"In Uzbekistan, when they (Bunyodkor) went behind, their fans got behind them causing us to defend deeper and deeper till they scored but today, unfortunately from the 30th minute the atmosphere inside the stadium got worse and worse and the fans didn't support us," he said.

The defeat leaves Sepahan three points behind the Uzbeks in Group D and looking like suffering a second successive elimination at the group stage.

"We have to win both (remaining) matches against Ettifaq and Al Shabab to go through," said a despondent Kazemi.

His counterpart, Khikmat Irgashev, was in altogether higher spirits.

"This began as a difficult match for both teams but we changed our tactics early on and managed to score," he said.

"We made good decisions at crucial times which is what I think made the difference. After this win we're very hopeful of qualifying for the next round."

Sharjah SC withdraw from ACL

KUALA LUMPUR: The UAE Football Association has informed AFC that Sharjah Sports Club have withdrawn from the 2009 AFC Champions League because of 'domestic commitments'.

AFC has acknowledged the club’s withdrawal while confirming that all necessary action would be taken in accordance with Art. 29 (c) of AFC Champions League 2009 Regulations.

UAE FA General Secretary Yousef Mohd Abdullah, in a letter to AFC, wrote that the club needed time to focus on escaping relegation in the UAE League and therefore would like to withdraw from their final two ACL matches.

Sharjah, who entered the AFC Champions League group stage via the play-offs, have lost all four of their AFC Champions League Group B matches.

AFC Champions League Project Director Suzuki Tokuaki said: “We regret their decision. We must now consider further action according to the regulations.”

All the matches of Sharjah are cancelled and considered null and void (all points, goals scored and goals against will not be counted and taken into consideration when deciding the ranking in the group).

The club also faces disqualification from the next edition of the AFC Champions League as well as being referred to the AFC Disciplinary Committee

Bunyodkor took the lead after 27 minutes through Shavkat Salomov before Seyed Hadi Aghily levelled the scores in the third minute of first-half stoppage time. The Iranians then took the lead after 61 minutes through Iraqi striker Emad Mohammed but Bunyodkor secured a share of the spoils thanks to a 75th minute strike from Ashurmatov. Timur Kapadze scored the only goal of the game in the first half, but according to Kazemi, Sepahan were fortunate to concede just the one goal. "We made tactical errors and we were lucky not to concede four goals," he said. "We were terrible today. We couldn't even hold on to the ball for five minutes.” Kazemi was shocked by his team’s the performance given Sepahan were within 15 minutes of beating Bunyodkor in Tashkent two weeks ago. "A team can't just do a 180-degree turn and play so badly after its last performance but this was us,” he said. "We didn't even have a proper chance in the whole game…just a possible penalty shout which the referee turned down anyway. "The players couldn't carry out our instructions, although the tactics we'd chosen didn't suit the players. I was second best tactically.” But not all of Kazemi's wrath was directed at himself and his players, with the coach expressing his disappointment at the home fans for calling for his head during the match. "In Uzbekistan, when they (Bunyodkor) went behind, their fans got behind them causing us to defend deeper and deeper till they scored but today, unfortunately from the 30th minute the atmosphere inside the stadium got worse and worse and the fans didn't support us," he said. The defeat leaves Sepahan three points behind the Uzbeks in Group D and looking like suffering a second successive elimination at the group stage. AFC has acknowledged the club’s withdrawal while confirming that all necessary action would be taken in accordance with Art. 29 (c) of AFC Champions League 2009 Regulations. UAE FA General Secretary Yousef Mohd Abdullah, in a letter to AFC, wrote that the club needed time to focus on escaping relegation in the UAE League and therefore would like to withdraw from their final two ACL matches. Sharjah, who entered the AFC Champions League group stage via the play-offs, have lost all four of their AFC Champions League Group B matches. AFC Champions League Project Director Suzuki Tokuaki said: “We regret their decision. We must now consider further action according to the regulations.” All the matches of Sharjah are cancelled and considered null and void (all points, goals scored and goals against will not be counted and taken into consideration when deciding the ranking in the group).
